Given the current situation around Covid-19, we decided this is a good time to share some top hair styling tips for men at home while blocking our barbers in Bristol.
The first thing we advise our customers to do is lockdown can be a good time to experiment with longer hair and also try out different new products.
We recommend our customers to leave the entire hair styling and hair cutting to the experts until after the blocking period. The last thing anyone wants is having to live with a bad haircut at home!
As the hair grows, it sits differently and behaves differently from the styling and use of products than customers are used to. Some customers who have had short hairstyles for years may find the cut-off period challenging, and the thought of not having a haircut every four to six weeks could be difficult.
Our advice would be to join in and use the lock at home to experiment. Longer hair can look fantastic if it is well conditioned and cared for.
Here is an example of pre-locking down the styling of slightly longer hair in the salon:
It’s not always about the length of hair that is removed, it’s about the styling and the products that create a look. The example above shows this well.
As hair grows, it needs more products and care, but doesn’t need to be washed daily. We recommend washing it twice a week and applying conditioner daily to keep the hair moisturized during the lockdown.
As the hair grows longer, it may sit better on one side and create a new look. It all depends on the weight and length when the hair grows in the lockdown.
Hair products for men that are particularly good for longer hair include EVO Salt Spray and American Crew Boost Powder. If customers are having trouble getting their favorite men’s hair products, please email us at email@example.com. We’ll see how we can help you publish products during the blackout period.
Trimming the beard and shaping sideburns can be done comfortably at home. We’re going to write a special blog post about male grooming tips that we can try at home in Lockdown next week. So keep an eye out for these fantastic free tips.
